The DNS changes have been carried out without incident and the vast majority of DNS requests are now being served by Constellix (DNSmadeeasy) rather than Cloudflare. We will continue to monitor this closely, and any changes will be mirrored on Cloudflare for the next 14 days to ensure that there is no unexpected inconsistency.
The planned changes to Redis had a small negative impact on performance and, as such, we have reverted these and will review and reschedule as appropriate.
None of the above works were service affecting in any way, and the AT RISK period can be considered closed.

Please note that we are undertaking some changes to our Redis servers on Saturday 7th April, we do not anticipate this being service affecting as these should not affect live traffic, however services should be considered AT RISK for this brief window, and statistics may briefly be inaccurate.
Furthermore, we're taking this opportunity to move our DNS for the main simwood.com domain from Cloudflare back to our previous provider - DNS Made Easy, which continued to host our other domains and reverse DNS records after simwood.com moved to Cloudflare in 2016.
We concentrate on what we're good at, and therefore don't run our own DNS or Mail services - relying on trusted external providers to provide these services - however, the importance of DNS cannot be underestimated. We moved to Cloudflare to take advantage of additional security features such as "Web Applications Firewalls" which, unfortunately, never worked as expected, and additionally introduced SSL issues. We swiftly disabled these, leaving Cloudflare as nothing more than a DNS provider - something where DNS Made Easy consistently ranks higher in performance and in features.
Despite the change to Cloudflare, the DNS Made Easy zonefile has remained current with any changes and we're confident that moving the primary NS records to DNS Made Easy will not result in any interruption of service. Additionally, we will maintain the records at Cloudflare for a minimum of 14 days to ensure continuity of service even where the NS records have been cached.
